So, I was sent this little care package from La Roche-Posay earlier in November and to be honest, I’d never heard of this brand before, so I was excited to try them. I have started to get pretty picky with my skincare as I age, so I was pleased to hear a ton of comments telling me they use the brand and think it’s amazing for sensitive skin when I posted about it on my Instagram Stories.

It was awesome to see their products are also baby-friendly! But I was a little scared to try them on our baby since he has pretty sensitive skin – my husband has the most sensitive skin ever, so no surprise there! I did a little reading and research and found some awesome features:

  • Over 30 years of experience and research makes them a “go-to” for those with sensitive skin
  • They historically use thermal spring water, naturally rich in selenium, so it relieves sensitive and irritated skin and helps prevent skin aging
  • No unnecessary ingredients; fragrance-free and (I think) paraben-free

The packaging is high quality and easy to use and the design is clean and minimal, like the brand.

I immediately reached for the Lipikar Baume AP+ (I know, the product names aren’t so easy to remember.) It is the lotion that came in a big bottle with a pump. It is so hydrating, it was like giving my skin a big glass of water. My skin gets so dry since it’s so cold in Canada right now and this is the perfect product. You know when it gets so cold your skin gets itchy? Yeah, this eliminated that for me. Also love that I can use it on our baby and it doesn’t irritate his skin! As for the texture, it is pretty thick (but not like a body butter). It’s fast absorbent, but not that fast, you know? I’d still need 10-15 seconds to make sure the product is all absorbed.

I’m also a big fan of the Cicaplast Lips and Cicaplast Hands – sooo so good for when I go for outdoor runs! Both of these products are very thick, but oh boy, do they moisturize. I also like to use the Anthelios Stick SPF 60 to spot-treat my face to make sure I am protected when I go outside in the sun. TIP: This product is perfect if you snowboard or ski and have your face exposed to the sun for hours.

I also tried out the Thermal Spring Water and it’s good, but it’ll really come in handy during the summer months. I do like that the spray is a nice even mist.

Overall, really happy with this brand. If you’d like to try it, I would recommend the lotion (Lipikar Baume AP+). The Lipikar Baume AP+ is a new must-have for winter in our family!

Here’s a list of all the products in the above photo and their prices. All available at your local drugstore.
