Fashion-forward photographer friends, have you heard of THE IT bags?!?

I featured it last year on my gift guide and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. No one got it for me for Christmas (whomp whomp) but the owner, Nicole, was kind enough to send me a sample for review. I am pleased to say that it lives up to my high expectations. It’s also a Canadian brand, based in Toronto! Love me some local businesses ;)

I used to carry around my DSLR with me everywhere when I first got it.

But then I stopped because it just looked ridiculous in my bags (made them too bulky) or I would have to bring the standard camera case… and let’s face it, those are hideous. Then I started to just wrap it around a scarf and bring it with me in my purse (I still sometimes do this lol) but I feel like it’s not really safe, you know?

I am always on the look out for structured, stylish bags that my baby can live in and this is my absolute favourite at the moment. Let me tell you why!

The “Bossi” bag is a classic! It looks good with any and every outfit. It comes with 2 handles so you can wear it in a few different ways. It can be dressed up or dressed down… super easy to style, as you can see here!

The inside is nice and soft, with custom dividers for your camera, lenses and/or flash. But you can also remove it if you want to take it out sans camera.

If black isn’t your colour, there is also the Gravel Bossi. For a little bling, the Bossi and Gravel Bossi both have studded versions. The Lula is something new (and available for pre-order on the site HERE) and comes in great colours too! I feel like I need that pink Lula for spring time.

Anyway, I love this bag so much that I asked THEIT if I could do a giveaway for BEAUTY AND A BITE readers and the owner, Nicole, said yes! Whoop whoop! I know there’s a bunch of you that are really into photography and would just love this (my friends IRL included, ahem). This giveaway is for you. The only mandatory step in the Rafflecopter is to leave a comment telling me what type of camera you own, what you love about it and your favourite photo you’ve ever taken.

As usual, I will go first! I have a Canon 30D and an Olympus EPM-2. I love the quality from both cameras, the control of my DSLR and the compact-ness of my Olympus (I know that sounds ridiculous, but it’s true). My favourite photo I’ve ever taken…. wow that’s a hard one. I have so many! But I would have to say… a lot are self-timed photos of me and Kris. Sometimes you get to capture that moment on a self-timed photo where everything is actually perfect – this makes me very happy!

Now it’s your turn! Good luck, friends!

** If you have a minute, tell me about your favourite camera bags! As much as I love letting you guys know about the cool stuff I come across, I love hearing it from you guys too. I love discovering new brands from real people, so please don’t be shy to share!**

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post. I was sent the Bossi bag for a review and I’m happily sharing with you because I love it! I love it so much that I want to give one to a reader! :)

  • I was reading along and the more I see your bag the more I want it. Then I see the giveaway O_O!!!

So I have a new Olympus OM-D E-M1. :) Rom is going crazy buying lenses for it. Hahaha. I still have to really take the time to learn it (still putting it on Auto mode for now!), but it’s an amaaazing camera. A favourite photo I’ve taken is a sunset in Costa Rica. The sky was purple and you could just see the outline of the coconut trees in the foreground. <3

  • This bag has been on my list for the longest time! LOVE IT!

I own a Canon Rebel XSi and a Nikon d5000 (planning to upgrade on Boxing Day). What I love about the Canon is how easy it was to learn to use it as a newbie when I first got it. My favourite photo I’ve taken was a picture of the sunrise while waiting to lift off from SFO. There were dew drops on the cabin windows, and I was able to keep it in focus while having the beautiful sunrise in the background.

  • I’ve got a fujifinepix S2. it takes superb black and white photos. My fave photo is a macro pic of lipsticks!

  • I have a Canon Powershot SX500 IS which is the closest I have to a DSLR. I’m afraid of spending a lot of money on a fancy camera and not do it justice by not even knowing how to use it. I do end up carrying it everywhere though, you never know when a great photo opportunity will arise! One of my fave photos was during a visit to an one place while J and I were apartment hunting; the light was just hitting him in the right way and the photos turned out great.

  • I have a canon t1i that I love because it was a great entry level dslr that taught me a lot and was compatible with so many great lenses and flashes! I’m hoping to upgrade to a full frame soon though.

Off the top of my head, my favourite photo that I’ve taken was an action shot of a gorgeous Jenny Packham dress at the first NYFW that I attended. It was a dimly lit runway and the models were moving quickly but I framed the shot perfectly and it came out beautifully sharp too.

I currently use a padded camera bag insert in my purses, so I would love to win the it bag :) thanks for hosting this giveaway!

I have a Canon Rebel. I got it last summer just in time to take vacation photos and I love that it isn’t too heavy to lug around – we had to do A LOT of walking in the heat day after day – and that it’s pretty easy to use and produces good quality photos for a newbie like myself! My favourite photo is a tough one, possibly one of the night skyline photos of Hong Kong because I was still trying to figure that one out and to me I can still see all the lights wonderfully.

I have a Canon Rebel (cannot remember what model, and I let my cousin borrow it recently). I love how easy it was for me to learn how to use it, considering it was my first DSLR. My favourite photo I’ve ever taken with it is a headshot of a friend against a monochrome padded wall; so simple + clean!

I have a Canon EOS Kiss X2 (aka Rebel XSi), a Lumix GF1 and a waterproof Lumix Tough that I bring on vacations, especially by the beach. I haven’t brought out my Canon for the longest time because like you said, it just takes up so much room and looks bulky in purses. That’s why I was so intrigued when you first brought these to my attention!

I also find it hard to narrow it down to one favourite photo… I’m such a photo junkie! Haha. It might have to be one of the photos I’ve taken on a trip, probably one from Japan or Disney World since I’ve always wanted to travel to those places ever since I was younger.

Another one of my favourite camera bags for my DSLR is a Golla bag I got quite some time ago. It’s light grey with a Sakura print in the front and it’s lime green inside. It’s got the same kinda thing going on with the adjustable divider inside, but it’s more on the casual side. The outer material is pretty easy to clean, too!

I’m such a camera newbie and I don’t know the terms. I had to look up which one I own! ha I own a Canon Powershot SX510. Easily the best camera I’ve ever own and the price is affordable. My favourite photo ever taken was actually taken with a disposable camera when I was on tour in England. I took a picture of St. Pauls Cathedral through the trees and it came out gorgeous. It’s blown up and framed in my parents living room.

I own a Sony RX1. I love how sharp the pictures are. I can’t pick just one favourite pictures. Mostly nature pictures, my cities, and my kids.

  • Steph

I don’t own a camera! I lost mine a while ago and haven’t gotten the chance to replace it. It was a little Canon Powershot camera, don’t know the specifics tho. I had a really good shot of a camping scene once.

I have a Nikon D5100. I went with it over Canon b/c I liked how it felt in my hands. My favorite pictures I’ve taken so far are recent ones for my son’s 1st and 4th birthday.

  • Lushka Smith

I have a Nikon and it’s just the right size, not too heavy. My favourite pic was of a baby Mountain Gorilla I saw in Rwanda.

I own a Canon Rebel, and my favorite photos are of my husband!!

I own a Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G5X and I love that it gives me DSLR-quality photos without the bulk of an actual DSLR. As for my favourite photo….gosh, that’s a hard one. I would have to say some of my recent favourites are from my trip to Yellowstone National Park this summer. (Soph Y)
