I am a huge Britney fan. My friends and family laugh at me, but she is honestly so amazing in my eyes. (If you’re not a Britney fan… WHY DID YOU CLICK ON THIS GEEZ!!)

Anyway, “Work Bitch” leaked a day early and so they released it a day early. And I’m freakin’ ecstatic! I’ve been listening to it non-stop for almost 24 hours.

It is POP GOLD! It’s catchy, repetitive and can get stuck in your after only a few listens. If you don’t like pop music, you will HATE this. But I love me some pop, so this is amazing for me.

It sounds a bit ridiculous that this song got me motivated, but it really did.  (Career-wise, too… but this is a fitness post.) I’ve been having a pretty terrible summer in terms of my fitness (translation: I’ve been lazy as f*ck) and my workouts have been inconsistent. But even worse… my eating habits have been out of control.

know that if you want to change your body, you need to WORK. I have been complacent with my progress, I will be the first to admit. After losing a huge chuck of weight, it’s easy and extremely common to gain the weight back and I think that’s exactly where I am now. I’ve been really sad about it lately and I found myself in the same cycle as I was before.

Sad about my eating habits/inconsistent workouts = Make myself feel better by eating more junk food and feeling sorry for myself on the couch.

I know – you’ll say that I don’t look bad at all. That I don’t look that different and I probably didn’t even gain any weight. Well, I haven’t actually weighed myself all summer, so I don’t really know. But I like to measure my success by how I look and feel… and I do not feel good. I really hate having to blog about this because I feel like I’m complaining (and I hate that), but the point I’m trying to get across is that I feel you. If you’re having a similar summer, year or life, then I know just what you’re going through. It is possible to get off your ass and actually reach your goals.

You just have to force yourself to do it in the beginning. 

That’s the honest truth. Eventually, it will come more naturally. But for now… SHUT UP AND JUST DO IT!

    I’m not a Brit fan, or a pop fan really BUT if that top picture is her currently, why on earth would that tweet refer to her battling obesity?! People need to read a dictionary.

    • Haha I’m pretty sure it’s referring to the lyrics – “battling obesity” in a form of motivating people to work out “look hot in a bikini – you better worth bitch”. Not really about her.

    ALSO – I completely relate to having a crappy summer, I have 2 fitness events coming up that I should’ve been training for all summer and the consistency just hasn’t been there. We all go through it! Also having lost a lot of weight myself, I think we start to get comfortable with our “new” bodies even though we still aren’t where we want to be, it’s a learning process as we adjust. Keep up your hard work, the best part of the journey is recognizing when you drift into previous habits, acknowledging them and knowing you won’t go back!
