“Let’s Talk About” is a new series on B+AB about people I admire or – I’ll admit – plain ol’ eye candy. Basically, it’s a section of the blog where I can write about and fangirl about anyone I want to. There will be pictures, interviews, and whatever else I like! lol It’s all in good fun. Maybe I’ll turn you into a fan? :)

(FYI, don’t be shy to fangirl with me in the comments.)

My first was going to be Kid Cudi, but since J Cole just blessed us with Truly Yours 2 yesterday, I had to give him some love! I was farking squealing when this happened yesterday. This mixtape is similar to the first one “Truly Yours” and I am in love with every single song. But my favourite right now is Chris Tucker. The beat. The lyrics. Cole World swag. Unhggg!

The first song off of it is called “Cole Summer” and he mentions Tia + Tamera Mowry…

What does he say? Well…..

/ If I had one wish, I would fuck Tia and Tamera, at the same time
And put name tags on they titties so I don’t get they name wrong
Screamin’ “Game on” /

Aside from that, I’ve also been obsessed with the Power Trip video with Miguel. If you haven’t seen it, here it is!

I’m a J Cole fan, first and foremost, because of his music. I wasn’t always a fan – when I heard his first mixtape, The Come Up (2007), the first listen didn’t get me. But soon after, I found myself jammin’ to his songs and by the time Jay-Z signed him to Roc Nation in 2009 and The Warm Up (2009) came out, I was a full-fledged fan. COLE WORRRLLLLDDD!

Also, I didn’t think he was cute before but his talent makes him way more attractive to me! I find that this happens quite a lot. Here are some photos I like – all from his blog, Dream Villain.

Don’t be jelly o̶f̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶p̶h̶o̶t̶o̶s̶h̶o̶p̶ ̶s̶k̶i̶l̶l̶z̶ that I met J Cole! lol

Do ya like this post? Are you a J Cole fan? Or maybe at least you’re curious now?! Heeehee. If you have a blog and don’t have a post about your random celebrities you like, WHY THE HECK NOT?!

  • LOL omg Maria! Funny how talent can really amplify someone’s presence eh? I think I’m going to like this series….haha.

    • Hahaha so glad you like it! And I love the fact that someone’s talent or brains change the way we look at them physically.

  • I respect the love for J. Cole here. I started listening to him a bit before The Sideline Story came out, when the hype was building and everyone was all like “who IS this guy???” Definitely have a few songs of his that made their way into my prestigious “Top 250 Most Played” list (not easy, considering that I currently have 11,300 songs in my iTunes and the lowest play count on that list is 86 times…), and he’s a solid MC.

For me, he’s since been overshadowed by Kendrick Lamar and the sonic/narrative GOLD that is good kid, m.A.A.d. city, but J. Cole still got that fire. June 18th can’t come soon enough.

    Born Sinner.

    • Thanks for replying, Casey! Top 250 played is insane! My iTunes wiped out everything less than a year ago so my list isn’t very accurate. I’d bet J Cole is still in my top 50, though!

Kendrick Lamar is one I need to really get into. I’ve listened to his stuff here and there and I definitely see the talent, but I can’t call myself a fan yet. Any suggestions on which of his stuff I should get into??

      • With Kendrick, his (O)verly (D)edicated album has a few gems on it (“The Heart, Pt. 2” is a personal favourite of mine), but what’s REALLY worth listening to is his independently-released “Section.80”, and then the studio release “good kid, m.A.A.d. city” which you NEED to listen to from beginning to end to get the full effect (it’s marketed as a “short film” by Kendrick Lamar).

I eagerly await what comes next from Kendrick, and though I don’t really do concerts, I do kind of wish I’d gotten tickets for his concert coming to the T-Dot in August.

        • Thank you! Downloading those ASAP! And I normally listen to mixtapes/albums from beginning to end the first time to really get a feel for it, so that is no problem with me! I’ll let you know what I think :) I’m sure tickets will some out closer to the date!

          • Did you get your Kendrick on? What’re your feelings on Born Sinner?

          • I’m diggin’ what I’ve been hearing! I suck and forgot to get back to you on this, so I’m going to listen to them again today and then I’ll hit you back tomorrow so my ears are fresh! lol

I’m liking Born Sinner!!! Still like his mixtapes better, but I have to give credit where it’s due. I feel like he’s getting better at putting his touch in his studio albums. I like Villuminati, She Knows + Let Nas Down. What’d you think?

          • Born Sinner wasn’t as good as his previous stuff, surely, but it does have some gems. According to my iTunes, I’m a big fan of Forbidden Fruit, Crooked Smile and New York Times :)

    LOL! Good read!
