Earlier this month, I was asked to participate in a ridiculously awesome project with Lancôme Canada.
(Wait for it…)
To be a part of a photography exhibition!
At the Luminato Festival (it’s a festival in Toronto that celebrates creativity, so you know I’m all over that!)
So, naturally I was like:
Because I never ever everrrrr get approached for anything photography-related by beauty companies (or PR agencies). [I am a freelance photographer, if you didn’t know!] Blogging, photography and beauty? 3 of my faves in one? (We’re really only missing a food component and it’d be a full circle lol)
Anyway, here are some details for ya.
Lancôme is presenting two exhibitions during Luminato – ’Rôses by…20 artists for a rose’’ and ‘’20 Bloggers for a Rose: The Lancôme Virtual Gallery’’. I will be participating in the latter, along with 19 of Canada’s top beauty, fashion & lifestyle bloggers. We were all given carte blanche to create our personal interpretation of the iconic rose.
Lancôme’s iconic emblem since it was established in 1935, the rose is a majestic flower. Just like women, it embodies colour and light, freshness and sensuality, birth and maturity, innocence and passion, emotion and seduction all in one. (- From the press release)
The main photography exhibition entitled ‘’Rôses by…20 artists for a rose’’ will be presented from June 14-20 at First Canadian Place with photographs taken by twenty of the world’s foremost photographers (including Patrick Demarchelier, one of my personal favourites! I can’t wait to see how he’s interpreted the rose into his work).
‘’20 Bloggers for a Rose: The Lancôme Virtual Gallery’’, on the other hand, can only been seen with a smartphone at David Pecaut Square during the festival at the Lancôme’s installation. You’ll then download an app (available for iPhone or Android) to view the gallery virtually mounted in David Pecaut Square via an augmented reality technology, offering a fun and innovative digital experience.
I can’t wait to see everyone’s photos! Can you tell I’m sooo excited? Have you gone to the Luminato Festival before? How did you like it, and do you think you’ll drop by this year? (Pretty please! :))
